26 totalWhat do error codes TE1 or TE2 mean on my Kenmore dryer?
Error codes TE1 or TE2 indicate a temperature sensing failure in the dryer. When either of these codes appears on the display, you should turn off the dryer and call for service. (Page 31)
How often should I clean the lint filter?
You should clean the lint filter before or after every single load. To clean it, pull the lint filter straight up and roll any lint off with your fingers — do not rinse or wash the filter to remove lint. If the filter appears dark or dirty when held up to the light, use hot soapy water and a stiff brush, and make sure it is completely dry before reinstalling. Never operate the dryer without the lint filter or with a wet lint filter. (Page 27)
How do I fill the steam feeder on my Kenmore dryer?
Pull out the steam feeder drawer, lift out the steam feeder, and fill it with tap water up to the MAX line. Place the steam feeder back in the drawer and push the drawer in until it clicks into place. Only use tap water — do not use distilled water, as the water level sensor in the steam generator will not work, and never fill it with hot water over 86°F/30°C or any flammable substances. (Page 26)
What type of venting material is required for installation?
You must use only rigid metal or semi-rigid metal 4-inch diameter ductwork for venting the dryer. Do not use plastic or flexible foil venting materials, as these are known to collapse, be easily crushed, and trap lint, which obstructs airflow and increases the risk of fire. If a flexible metal transition duct is needed between the dryer and the wall connection, only a UL-listed flexible metal transition duct may be used for that short section. (Pages 5–6, 14–15)
What are the electrical requirements for the electric dryer model?
The electric dryer must be connected to a separate 240 VAC, 60-Hz, single-phase circuit fused at 30 amperes on both sides of the line. A 4-wire connection is required for all new construction after January 1, 1996, as well as for all mobile and manufactured home installations. The power cord (pigtail) is not supplied with the dryer and must be a 30-amp, 240-volt, UL-listed cord with #10 AWG-minimum copper conductor. (Pages 12–13)
How do I use the Sanitize cycle, and are there any restrictions?
Select the Sanitize cycle using the Cycle Selector Knob; the temperature will automatically be set to HIGH and the dryness level to EXTRA DRY, and these default settings cannot be changed. The Sanitize cycle is NSF-certified to reduce 99.9% of bacteria on laundry with none carrying over to the next load. Do not use this cycle with delicate items or fabrics, and steam cannot be added to the Sanitize cycle. (Pages 20, 24)
