Run a Drum Clean cycle with no laundry before washing your first load. Add 1 to 2 tablespoons of detergent to the main-wash chamber II, then run the Drum Clean cycle and wait for it to finish. Loosen and remove all 4 transport bolts completely before first use, then place the provided plastic covers over the transport bolt holes by pressing on the snap hook to lock them firmly. Transport bolts that are not removed can damage the drum during operation and will cause excessive vibration and noise during spin cycles. To activate or deactivate the child lock, touch and hold the Temperature and Finish in buttons simultaneously for approximately 3 seconds until the D symbol appears in the display. When D is lit steady, the child lock is active; when D is blinking, the child lock is active but the cycle selector has been adjusted. Note that the child lock can remain activated until the next cycle start even after switching the machine off. (Page 22)

The water supply pressure must be between 14.5 to 145 psi (1–10 bar) with a minimum flow of 2.2 U.S. gallons (8 liters) per minute. If the maximum water pressure is exceeded, a pressure regulator valve must be installed. The Å symbol indicates the washer has detected too much foam, and it automatically adds an additional rinse cycle to remove the foam. You should use less detergent the next time you run the washer with the same load. Excessive suds are typically caused by using too much detergent or a non-HE detergent. (Page 23)

First attempt to drain the washer by selecting the Drain program and pressing Start/Pause, then shut off the water tap, switch the appliance off, and unplug it. Remove the service cover, loosen screws and remove the protective film, then use the pull-out drain hose to drain remaining water (up to 5.3 U.S. gallons/20 liters) into a suitable container. Turn the pump cover counterclockwise to remove it, clean the interior of the pump housing of any debris, check that the impeller wheel spins freely, and reinstall the pump cover with the handle in the vertical position. Cleaning is recommended every 6 months to reduce chances of valve blockage, especially in hard water areas. To clean, first de-pressurize the hoses by turning off the water tap, starting a wash cycle briefly, then turning the selector to Off. Remove the hose from the tap and the back of the washer, pull the strainer out with narrow pliers, rinse under running water, and reconnect. (Page 31)

Note that the cycle duration is included within the set Finish in time — for example, with an 8-hour Finish in time and a 2-hour 30-minute cycle, the washer will wait approximately 5 hours and 30 minutes before beginning the cycle.
