4 About the refrigerator controls and features. Control Settings Features The temperature control maintains the temperature in the refrigerator. Setting the control to MIN is the warmest setting. 5 Cleaning the Outside Keep the outside clean. Wipe with a clean cloth lightly dampened with kitchen appliance wax or mild liquid dish detergent. Dry and polish with a clean, soft cloth. 16 À propos des commandes et des composants du réfrigérateur. Réglage des commandes Composants La commande de température maintient la température dans le réfrigérateur. Un réglage sur MIN correspond à la température la plus chaude et sur MAX, la plus froide. Réglez la commande sur MED (moyenne). Allouez 24 heures pour atteindre la température MED (moyenne). Si vous souhaitez une température plus froide ou plus chaude, tournez le cadran un réglage à la fois. Mettre la commande à OFF (arrêt) met fin au refroidissement mais ne coupe pas l’alimentation électrique au réfrigérateur. 17 Cleaning the Exterior Keep the exterior clean. Wipe with a clean cloth slightly dampened with appliance wax or mild liquid dish detergent. Dry and polish with a soft, clean cloth. Never wipe your refrigerator with a dirty cloth or wet towel. This can leave a residue that may damage the paint. Never use a scouring pad, powder cleaner, bleach, or cleaning product containing bleach or ammonia, as these products can scratch and damage the paint.
Protect the finish. The refrigerator has a high-quality baked-on exterior paint. Proper maintenance will keep it looking new and maintain its rust-resistant properties for years. Apply a coat of appliance wax to the refrigerator when new, then twice a year thereafter.
Cleaning the Interior To help prevent odors, leave an open box of baking soda in the refrigeration and freezer compartments.
Unplug the refrigerator before cleaning. If this is not practical, wring out excess moisture from the sponge or cloth when cleaning near the control.
Use a solution of warm water and baking soda – approximately one tablespoon (15 ml) of baking soda in one liter of water. This will clean and neutralize odors. Rinse and wipe dry.
Other refrigerator components – including door seals, crisper drawers, and all plastic parts – can be cleaned the same way.
Do not wash plastic refrigerator parts in the dishwasher.
Replacing the Light Bulb (some models) Unplug the refrigerator before replacing a burned-out bulb. Setting the control to OFF does not cut power to the light circuit.
The bulb is located behind the temperature control housing and is visible through the light protective screen.
Remove the protective screen by disengaging it from the bottom of the housing. Carefully unscrew the bulb. Replace it with a bulb of equal or lower wattage.

Preparing for Extended Absence
When taking a vacation or extended absence, remove all food and unplug the refrigerator. Turn the control to OFF and clean the interior with a solution of one tablespoon (15 ml) of baking soda and 1 liter of water. Leave the door open.
Defrosting (Manual Defrost Models Only)
Defrost when frost buildup reaches 1/4 inch (6 mm) on the ice cube compartment walls.
Never use a sharp or metal instrument to remove frost, as this can damage the refrigerant lines. A punctured line will cause serious problems and void your warranty. We recommend using a plastic scraper. Do not use any electrical device to defrost your refrigerator.
To Defrost:
Defrosting usually takes a few hours. To speed up the process, keep the door open. You can also pour moderately warm (not boiling) water over the frosted area to accelerate the process. Do not use boiling water as it can damage plastic parts.
After Defrosting:
NOTE: If frost buildup is very thick, opening or closing the ice cube compartment door may be difficult. Do not force it; after defrosting, the door will operate easily.
Preparing for Moving
Secure all removable parts, such as shelves, trays, and drawers, with tape to prevent damage. Ensure your refrigerator remains upright during the move.

29 Cleaning the Exterior Keep the exterior clean. Use a clean cloth that is slightly dampened with furniture wax or mild liquid detergent. Dry and polish with a clean, soft cloth.
Do not clean the refrigerator with a dirty dish cloth or wet towel. These may leave residues that cause corrosion on the paint. Do not use scouring pads, powder cleaners, bleach, or cleaners containing bleach, as these products can scratch and weaken the paint finish.
Protect the paint finish. The finish on the exterior of the refrigerator has high-quality baked-on paint. With proper care, it will maintain a new, rust-free appearance for years. Apply a coat of kitchen/appliance wax when the refrigerator is new, and then at least once per year.
Cleaning the Interior To prevent odors, leave an open box of baking soda in the refrigerator.
Unplug the refrigerator before cleaning. If this is not practical, squeeze out excess moisture from the sponge or cloth when cleaning around the control.
Use hot water and baking soda solution – approximately one tablespoon (15 ml) of baking soda for one quart (1 liter) of water. This cleans and neutralizes odors. Rinse and dry.
Other Refrigerator Parts – including door seals, crisper drawers, and all plastic parts – can be cleaned the same way.
Do not wash any plastic parts of the refrigerator in the dishwasher.

How to Replace the Lamp (on some models)
Unplug the refrigerator before replacing a burned-out lamp. Setting the controls to OFF does not remove power from the light circuit.
The lamp is located behind the temperature control housing and can be seen through the light cover.
Remove the light cover by pushing from the bottom of the housing. Gently unscrew the lamp. Replace with a lamp of the same wattage or less.
